COVID wrecked everything. Especially our neighborhoods. So, instead of sitting around whining about it, I created The NEIGHBORHOOD CURBSIDE CANVAS PROJECT, a neighborhood-recovery effort, uniting local artists with struggling New York City restaurants to transform pop-up dining patios into street art, for the purposes of driving greater interest, energy and business back into our COVID-coping communities.
In six weeks later, I created a thousand pieces of fresh content, raised thousand of dollars to help 20 volunteer artists transform 13 restaurants’ pop up dining patios into street art, culminating in a dedicated gallery opening and bi-weekly art crawls. Not to mention, tons of media attention for both restaurants and artists.
From there, recruited over a hundred volunteer artist, helped 50 restaurants in 10 neighborhoods across the city and utilized my full skill set in doing my part to help during COVID.
